The Berkeley Farmhouse is a cooperative house in South Berkeley, operating for the last 10 years as a 20-person collective with shared labor and food systems. 

Our collective is committed to continuing as a co-op, but we don’t own our home––we are all renters. Our home is up for sale and our collective is at risk. This house has a long history of collective living before us, and we want to avoid it being sold on the speculative market. We want to buy our house and keep it permanently affordable for ourselves and other low-income people for years to come, but we need community help to make that a reality.

Our goal is to raise the funds we need by the end of June 2026 through a mix of co-op lenders and investments from community. Here are three ways you can help us continue providing affordable housing in South Berkeley.
